Tamera Bailey knew the value of a Head Start education as she watched her 2 year-old son, Harrison explore his new school. "His 6 year-old brother is a graduate of the Head Start program in Appalachia. We've been on a waiting list for some time now. I was really glad when we got the call that he would be accepted."

That was the sentiment of Jessica Collins whose 17 month-old son Brent is one of the new students. "I like it (the new center) it's gonna be good for him."

"We had been on a waiting list for some time...he has nobody his age to play with."
